Immigrant Faith Stories: Season 2, Episode 2
As a young, single woman, Lidia relentlessly searched for the truth. Born and raised in Poland, she longed for something or someone who could help her be “good.”
Lidia was first introduced to the Bible when she lived in the U.S. as an au pair with a Christian family. Her experience opened her eyes to the truth about Jesus and impacted her a great deal. But she hesitated to give her life to Jesus.
When Lidia returned to Poland, she continued to wrestle with questions about sin, holiness, and God. She moved to Ireland where she became part of a community of believers who studied the Bible together. As she grew in her knowledge about Jesus, she became convinced that her quest for righteousness and truth ended in Jesus and she surrendered her life to Him.
While living in Ireland, Lidia met and married an American missionary, Louis. They journeyed to Los Angeles, California, to begin a new chapter of their lives. The couple now reside in Austin, Texas, with their two adolescent boys where they are actively involved in serving both their church and community.

Lidia’s testimony reminded me that God loves us so much that He actively pursues us and makes Himself known to us. If we seek Him, we will find Him.
